Physical Therapy-Physion Clinic

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is hands-on treatment, patient-centred approach focusing on the manual treatment of the soft tissue - muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and is aimed at restoring and maintaining the full functionality of the injured area.

It is a primary health care profession and is established on health science principles. It is proven as being very safe, non-invasive and is drug free.

Many of the physical problems we experience are caused by or manifest themselves through injury, disease, aging, environmental factors or just from over training.

If you experience pain or discomfort from any normal body movement or function you may be suffering from some form of injury possibly caused by one of the factors listed above.

                                                                                     Your first visit

On your first visit a full history will be taken including information about your condition. A physical examination/screening will follow and you may be asked to remove some of your clothing in order to assess your spine and joints.

Also, I would kindly ask you to arrive 2 minutes earlier and fill in the short history form that can be found at the reception.
This way, we can dedicate more time towards establishing your diagnosis and increasing the efficiency of your first visit.

During the physical examination various orthopaedic tests will be performed (don`t worry, these tests will not increase your pain although sometime they may reproduce it on a lesser level). Following, a diagnosis will be made and with your consent we will determine the course of treatment.

The treatment may include a variety of soft tissue techniques, joint/spine mobilizations or manipulations, specific dry-needling techniques, electro acupuncture, myofascial release, ultrasound, kinesio taping and a home care program which will consist of various stretching and strengthening exercises in order to complete the rehabilitation process and to achieve the return to full function of the affected area.

Each session will last up to 45 minutes.

Are you feeling uncomfortable about manipulations due to the pain, noise, pressure involved or maybe you just had a bad experience on any previous manipulations?

Or maybe you have a disk condition and your GP advised to avoid high velocity thrust techniques?

The Dorn method techniques available at Physion Clinic can provide a very gentle and effective joint/spine realignment alternative to manipulations
